Course Preparation:

Before embarking on any courses offered through Criss Academy, learners should ideally possess the following foundational skills to ensure a smooth learning experience and maximize your success: 1. Basic Computer Literacy Familiarity with using a computer and/or mobile device, including tasks such as navigating software, managing files, and typing. Understanding of email communication and accessing online platforms for virtual learning. Test your proficiency here. 2. Good Communication Skills The ability to articulate thoughts clearly in writing and verbally. Active listening skills, especially useful during discussions and interactive sessions. 3. Attention to Detail A keen eye for detail is crucial, especially in documentation, report writing, and understanding policies. 4. Basic Math Skills Competence with basic arithmetic, percentages, and understanding measurements. Useful for handling calculations related to claims, estimates, or pricing. 5. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving The ability to analyze situations, think critically, and make sound decisions. 6. Basic Understanding of Insurance Terminology (Optional but Helpful) Familiarity with common insurance terms such as deductibles, policy limits, and exclusions can provide a head start. 7. Time Management and Organizational Skills Managing your schedule effectively to attend classes, complete assignments, and review materials. 8. Willingness to Learn A proactive and open-minded attitude toward learning new concepts, tools, and industry practices. 9. Ability to Work Independently Self-discipline to manage course-related tasks and activities without constant supervision. 10. Xactimate Fundamentals Unless you are have taken our Xactimate Fundamentals course, one should have basic knowledge sufficient enough to pass the Xactimate Level 1 Proficiency exam before emabarking on Desk Adjuster Fundamentals, Residential Claims Fundamentals, and Pro Scope 101 courses. While these skills are not prerequisites for all courses, they serve as a strong foundation to help learners thrive in our Criss Academy programs, which are designed to build on these basics and advance your expertise in adjusting and claims handling.
